This free event is open to the public and hosted by the City of Atlanta and Atlanta World Kite Festival and Expo, LLC. The festival was created to encourage community among the many international communities and families that make Atlanta a cultural melting pot.
It's going to be a fun, family-friendly event so everyone should bring their kites or make one there at the 2nd Annual Kite Decorating Contest or, in honor of fall, try your hand at pumpkin decorating for the 4th Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. There will be tons of food and entertainments for kids and those who are kids at heart. In addition to flying kites, there will be live music, international food vendors, artists and representatives from a variety of community and non-profit organizations.
The festivities begin at 1 p.m. and last until 6 p.m. at The Meadow at Piedmont Park, which is located on the corner of 10th Street and Monroe Drive and across the street from Grady High School.
