Health & Weight Loss Journal
I’ve always been open with you in regards to my health… and somewhat open in regards to my weight. Yesterday, after a doctor’s appointment, I realize I hadn’t updated you in awhile so what better reason for a health update than good news.
I see my hematologist every three months and yesterday she told me, as of March, my protein levels are down. That’s excellent news for someone who has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. When I met with her I hadn’t been to the lab yet for my current blood tests, but she said they should be about the same and that may be why I’ve had increased energy lately.
Although I’ve written at least a dozen posts about my health I think there’s one that describes Multiple Myeloma the best. Just click through to get the low down on the disease and, if you’re up for it, learn a little bit about my health in the process.
The chronic pain is still there. A constant reminder acknowledged somewhere in the back of my head that pain is my friend every single day. It’s unfortunate that a lot of us chronic pain sufferers tend to become accustomed to (for lack of a better phrase) to the pain… Really, what else can we do, but get used to it?
I told my doctor that if my pain went away then we’re really talking about something and I would be required to throw a party. Wouldn’t that be great? A pain-free party.
For now, I relish in the fact that I’ve gotten a good health report. I don’t know the last time that happened. Years maybe?
If you care for someone with a chronic illness or disease or are suffering yourself, know that I understand and I’m “here” if you ever need to chat or vent. Leave a comment here or feel free to contact me via Twitter Petula1968, my Facebook page or even via email: I’m petulawrites at Gmail.
In the meantime, let’s relish in the good news and hope for good news for you as well.
