My sweet little Anna had to get tubes in her ears today. I got up at about 4:30 a.m. to make it to the hospital by 6:15 a.m. for an 8:15 surgery. I was able to go into the operating room with her and stay until she went under the anesthesia. She was good until they put the mask on her face – she didn’t like that part at all. Other than that she was so good/the perfect little patient.
Now she’s having a little pain and drowsiness, but she’s her normal 3-year-old self in between naps, pain and drowsiness. I wish I could get the picture off of my phone to show you how cute and peaceful she looked playing in her hospital bed (before being wheeled into the OR).
Needless to say, when we returned home, we took a nap. Thankfully the middle children had spent the night with their father and were at school.
Here’s my little sweetie (circa May 2010), isn’t she a cutie? It’s amazing how experiencing these moments makes you realizing how even more precious they are.
