Success at washing a 3 year old’s hair

It has taken me three years to figure out a way to get Anna’s hair washed without a lot of drama. She’ll do good with her big sister or her daycare provider, Miss Kellie, but she likes to give me a hard time.

The other day I needed to wash her hair, but didn’t have time or energy to put her in the tub so I decided to wash her hair at the kitchen sink. I knew it wouldn’t work to have her stand at the sink on a stool so this is what I did…

Needless to say, she thought it was the funniest thing to do. I’m so glad it went quickly and she enjoyed herself. It was even fun for me especially when I said I was going to take her picture and she started clowning around.

  1. Growing up, that is the only way we got our hair washed. We only begin washing it standing up, if you could reach the sink.

  2. That's pretty funny! :-) I don't even recall how my hair was washed as a young child when my mom did it. But my grandmother had a big utility sink that I had to bend over. As soon as I could I started washing my hair in the shower 'cause I used to hate bending over and getting water in my face. Plus my back would start hurting!

  4. It's great to see that the event ended peacefully. :)
During my childhood this was the most dreadful thought for me other than taking foods! :)
