School begins…

Part 2

About two weeks ago my two middle children went back to school and last weekend I took my oldest, 19-year-old Amber, back to her campus. Since this is her second year it was a little easier getting everything done as far as what she needed to take and have. Luckily, she had already bought most everything last year and just needed a few additional items. After we – her boyfriend and I – had her moved in, set up with groceries and the majority of things put away we left.

It was bittersweet to leave her, but it was way easier than last year when I smiled, waved and drove away… two minutes later I was bawling and couldn’t see the rode. :-)

Here’s a peek at Amber in her dorm room last year. It’s the slideshow I included with last year’s post.

Create Your Own

This year, can you believe, I forgot to take some pictures. So Amber was sweet enough – at her mother’s insistence – to take some pictures for me.

In a couple of weeks, I’ll be telling you about my youngest daughter’s first day of head start… And the cycle continues. :-)

How was your children’s first day of school?

How exciting that your daughter is starting her second year of college. Thanks for letting us know that it will get easier the second year. Mine hasn't started his first year, but I am already fretting over it.

I was cracking up at the girl's rooms in the dorm--they were so loaded with girly stuff and COLORS everywhere. Guys are just so different. Everything is black or gray and electronic. It was fun to see all the different rooms.

Glad the second year was easier. I did pretty good, but it is good to know I won't have to buy all that stuff again!

It can be nerve wracking, but one of the things that helped me not to worry too much was making lists and trying to read as much as I could. It always helps to at least feel prepared and knowledgeable. :-)

That's right, Lin, no more purchasing everything over. I was surprised at the few girls who didn't have girly stuff. One of Amber's roommates last year had a sports theme. Isn't that something! :-)
