There are a lot of things about my home that I’d like to get fixed, upgraded and decorated. In fact, I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t think about it. The main reason for not acting on my thoughts is the lack of funds, but that’s not going to stop me from planning. And as soon as I get a little “extra” money in my pocket I’m going to act on some of those plans.
For instance, I have a fairly large backyard off of a wooden deck. All it would take to get it family-friend ready and summer cozy is trimming some growth along the fence, cutting back some tree branches, adding some latice around the bottom of the deck, paint the deck and pressure wash the house. Then, to make it extra special and beautiful, a wooden swing under a tree and a hammock nearby that you could get to via a stone path and some outdoor furniture situated on the deck under a large umbrella would make for a perfect backyard spot for a staycation.
There’s even some room back there for a little playground area for the children. Put down some cardboard, add mulch, install play stuff… invite friends. Wouldn’t you like to come over and lounge on my newly updated and refurbished deck while the kiddos played (and didn’t bother us!) in the backyard?
Now that’s what I call a plan.
