It really seems like the day just flew by. It’s a little after 11 p.m. and lights are still burning, the washing machine is running, a floor is drying, I still have work I need to do and there is a hot shower calling my name.
I’d like to get into bed before 1 a.m., which isn’t that bad since I don’t have to wake up ‘til about 7:30 or 8… Well, I actually don’t have to wake up, but I know I’ll be awakened around that time.
If you’re a mom then you’re probably not even wondering why I am up this late doing things. You’ve probably figured that like most moms, my work is never complete. You’d be right… for the most part. But this weekend is special. Tomorrow my boyfriend and I head to Amber’s campus to pick her up. She’ll be home for the summer!
She has successfully completed her first year of college and I want her to come home to a comfortable, welcoming and CLEAN home. LOL… The other thing is that Sunday is Mother’s Day and I don’t plan on doing one little bit of housework.
Normally, the weekend before Mother’s Day Amber does a big cleaning job and asks what I want for dinner. While I was cleaning the floor I thought, ‘I don’t recall cleaning this time of year…’ My thought trailed off and it dawned on me that times have changed. I’m laying in wait for my younger children to responsibility take over the house and take care of me.
Yes, I’m hoping they’ll be like their older sister. A mom can hope, can’t she?
So what are you up to this evening? Relaxing, working, reading, housework, watching television?
Oh and if I don’t talk to you or come back on Sunday, have a Happy Mother’s Day.
