As a parent, I am always concerned about the safety of my children. One of the concerns I have is whether they're carseats and booster seats are installed correctly. The seats often have to be moved from one vehicle or another and in my old van there aren't those new latching hooks to keep the seat anchored. They never seem tight enough to me.
That's why I think the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Child Passenger Safety Week is important because it brings awareness to the issue of ensuring each child's seat is installed correctly to maximize on safety. Did you know that 3 out of 4 carseats are not installed as they should be, which puts children at risk? That number is very high.
