Tired mommy, talkative toddler

Today was the first day of school for my two middle children. One headed off to kindergarten (how exciting!) and one grumpily went to kindergarten readiness at the headstart program.

The teenager went to a doctor's appointment this morning and I'm left here with the toddler. (Her daycare provider had a few things to take care of for her children who also started school today.) Not only was I tired by 8:30 this morning, but the toddler will not leave me alone.

(Don't let that sweet look fool you, she was whining seconds before I took this picture and as soon as she saw the camera she says, "Cheese..." all pretty like! {AARGH!})---->

She won't watch a Disney movie, she won't stop talking to me or touching and she just won't leave me alone. She drew a picture for all of three minutes then started throwing the crayons around the room. She rarely does anything for longer than a few minutes so it's tough getting anything accomplished while she's around. Hence the reason she goes to daycare.

I guess I'll have to go ahead and fix lunch a little early to see if she will go ahead and take a nap. I need a nap too, but I also need to try and get some work done. It's not even noon and I'm irritated and worn out already.

  1. I do hope that your afternoon is much better than your morning has been.

Been there, done that. In fact I'm doing it with my 9 year old. I'm sooooo ready for school to start back up. Don't know what I'll do with myself then. :)
