I'm not officially participating, but I am a huge supporter of some of the blogs that are and I think it's a great opportunity to get to know them better, to read some personal posts and just to do something a little different.
Along that vane, I'm "hanging out" with Maternal Spark to consider what I want to do around here. And, you know, I think I want to do exactly what I've been doing. Let me explain:
I think over the years (about two and more than 1,000 posts) you've gotten to know a lot about me. I write about my children, my health and weight loss as well as the ups and downs of everyday life. Mixed in with that are reviews, paid posts and some PR-inspired posts. Oh, and I've done a couple of giveaways. The reason I do the reviews and PR stuff is because some of my background is in magazine article writing. When I was an editor at a business magazine, here in the Atlanta area, writing book reviews was one of my absolute favorite things to do.
I also had the chance to write travel and car reviews, a lot of features as well as some serious stuff. As a trained journalist, the "news" often comes from PR professionals - that's their job - and I normally don't write or talk about anything that I don't like. I always tell authors, agents and publishers that I'm considering the book for review - it's not a done deal. I ask PR folks to send me products I'm interested in and so forth. And, of course, I write paid posts 'cause I need the money.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because that's what it is like in this woman's world. Now, I have to hurry up and hit publish before midnight because this is supposed to be Monday's Muse. (I know I'm running late, you don't have to tell me. :P)

I hope you have an extremely creative, inspiring and joyful week. Wish me luck with that (things haven't been easy around here) and I'll see ya soon.
I'm excited to have you semi participating! There are a few others doing the same as they had prior obligations etc. It was great to read this post Petula because I know you've taken flack before over paid posts etc and blogging is all about what you want it to be. I love that you aren't afraid to let that show :) I would adore reading a poem from you...just sayin!
