On Thursday I had some errands to run, but put them off because the baby wasn't feeling well. Then on Friday, even though she was still under the weather, I had to at least get to the post office. Having to go to the post office at the last minute, with no time to order them off the Internet, I remembered that when I was growing up you could put your mail in your mailbox, put the money in their for stamps, raise the flag and the postman would take care of it for you.

14 folks a chattin':
WOW! That was a while ago. Such simple happy times! Those were good 'ol days!
That feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?
You can still do that. At least, I did... My postal person never said a word about me doing that.
I remember that!
Now, you have to put the postage on the stuff and he'll take it. Not as sweet but, still helpful no less.
Hope your baby girl is better by now :)
Our postal person still does this. It's so much easier then heading up to the post office. Thanks for sharing.
Oh yeah! I remember that. And we would leave money in the milk box on the front porch too. Remember those? Back in the good 'ol days you would have milk and dairy products delivered to your door. My kids think I'm weird when we talk about those days! Sigh.
I had forgotten about that! Hope the little one is better!
A wonderful memory that never forget. Take care of your baby. Get well soon
those days sound like heaven lol. you could never do that these days cud you!
I think you can still purchase stamps from you postman. I usually just pick them up at the grocery store while I am there.
I don't remember that. But when I was young our mail was delivered to my Granny's, next door and then we had a PO box...
You used to have that???That's so cool!
We never had it over here! :)
xoxo
I remember that too!
