Nothing to say...

This has been a weird couple of blogging days... I haven't had anything I want to blog about. Wait, let me correct that. I have a topic that I've been wanting to do, but it takes a little research. And I haven't felt like focusing on researching something serious.

Then there are the poems I'm working on, but I haven't finished them yet. Then I was going to tell you about the dinner the teenager and I had at Olive Garden and the grocery shopping fun we had, but I'm distracted by her and her girlfriend dancing, singing and talking in the living room.

Basically I'm just feeling a little random. There's so much to do, so much I don't feel like doing and so many distractions. I think I'll just go lay in my bed until I fall asleep... uh, right after I clean off the bed. Maybe I'll read a magazine or start a book... or maybe I'll just sit and stare at the ceiling while I try to ignore the High School Musical impersonations!

I'm not even going to mention that they said they were going to study for the Georgia High School Graduation Test that begins next week. I knew they would get distracted.

Oh well... I'm off to scribble more of my poem. There's one line that eludes me. Maybe Ms. Muse will visit soon.

Other than that, my weekend has been extremely good. Paid some bills, bought some food, did a little yoga, spent some time with the teenager without the younger kids... the randomness just keeps sneaking in. Random. Hmmm??? Kind of like this post.

Ms. Muse is at it again

Dream Killers

The redness seeped from her gums and she spat into the porcelain
Letting the wetness carry it away
Her muscles throbbed like the rhythm in the depths of the ocean
She could hear her joints scream like chimpanzees at the tops of trees
And her brain was fuzzy and bruised like day-old peaches...

Sorry that I have to tease you, but to read the rest you'll have to visit me here. But I won't force you; it's possible that if you ask nicely I'll post the entire thing. There's is a catch though... you have to use a secret word. It's a word I've randomly chosen (sort of) that is the secret word. I'll give you a hint: It's what I'm working on.

A Photo For Lauren Contest

I learned from Bradley that there's a nice little contest going on over at the Cancio blog. I like the contest because the blogger's 4 and 1/2 year old daughter is the judge.

I've decided to enter this adorable picture of my youngest daughter Anna. What little girl would be able to resist a picture that featured such a cute, little, pink hairbow on a cute little chubby-faced baby? :)

Good luck to everyone who enters!

She was there how long?

I saw this link on The Human Race 600 and it was so weird/interesting that I had to share it with you. It's a news story about a woman who stayed somewhere for too long and was stuck to something... and then there was the boyfried... I know that's vague, but I don't want to ruin it for you. So check it out for yourself.

"Take your dreams and goals out of layaway. Start living and enjoying your life." - Jewel Diamond Taylor

I really like coming across interesting and inspiring quotes. When I found this one I knew she was speaking directly to me.

What's your favorite quote?

A new contest at Pajama Mommy

Pajama Mommy is giving away three Internet Password Organizers. It's the handiest little organizer I've seen with a place to record user names and passwords all in one convenient location. I've entered to win one and maybe you should too!

Good luck!

Just in time for Easter

Harry & David is at it again with delicious treats for the holiday. I first became privy to them during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays so imagine my delight when I received information about their 2008 Easter gift collection. The collection has 10 delicious ways to delight friends and family this holiday.

There's the Easter Morning Basket that's filled with Milk Chocolate Moose Munch® Confection, a decorated Carrot Cookie, Milk Chocolate Eggs, Jelly Beans, traditional Bunny Corn, Chocolate Maltballs, a crunchy apple, juicy Royal Riviera® Pears and an adorable, green 6-inch bunny.

The Easter Celebration Cookies, which has chicks, bunnies, carrots and Easter egg lemon sugar cookies that are packaged in a delightful Spring-themed oval boxed.

But I think my favorite is the Cally Lily with Chocolate Truffles. The plant grows to 14 inches tall and is in a beautiful pink linen-covered container with a striped bow. What more could a girl ask for... yummy chocolates and a pretty plant!

Check out Harry & David to see what other Easter goodies are waiting for you.

Organize a Spring cleaning party

Although I have grandiose ideas regarding my Spring cleaning efforts; they hardly ever happen. I'm so overwhelmed by the amount of cleaning, straightening and freshening that I end up only doing about 1/4 of what I want to do. This year I had the idea of having a Spring cleaning party.

Here are the details:
1. Involve/invite at least four other families/women.
2. Decide on five weekends that everyone is available to clean.
3. Everyone chooses the weekend they would like their house cleaned.
4. Assign one person to care for children that weekend (the caregiver job would rotate each weekend).
5. Determine what job each person would like. For instance, one person may be assigned windows, another carpets and floors and someone else baseboards and shelves. Each person may have two tasks. For instance, washing comforters and transporting giveaways to Goodwill or Salvation Army. A good idea here is to throw all the tasks needed into a hat and everyone chooses then at the next house the tasks are just rotated.

Don't forget to:
1. Involve the men! They're going to be needed for heavy tasks.
2. Give older children a list of to dos. If you have teenagers then put them to work.
3. Eat. The person's home that is being cleaned should provide the food OR if everyone agrees then a potluck can be organized.
4. Invite people who you are comfortable with, new neighbors and/or a single parent in the neighborhood.
5. Be creative!

The benefits:
1. If there are small painting jobs or easy home improvements (like laying down a laminate floor) that are needed then it'll be possible to accomplish that also while others are cleaning.
2. The cleaning should happen more quickly and thoroughly.
3. It's an opportunity to socialize and be productive ... killing two birds with one stone.

Although this requires a lot of coordination, cooperation and organization it should make a sometimes daunting task very pleasant. Let me know if you have ideas about a spring cleaning party and if you organize one, come back and tell us about it!

Before the week is out I'm going to ask a couple of my friends if they're interested in joining my Spring cleaning party!

Love & Birthdate

I saw this on Carrie's blog so I had to check it out... I'm not sure I like what it says, but here it is anyway:

Your Birthdate: September 20

You may watch someone from afar before you finally decide to make your move.

It takes a long time for you to develop an attraction to someone.

Generally, you prefer to pick who you love. Anyone who tries to rush you is in for some heartache.

Number of True Loves You'll Have: 4

Number of Times You'll Have Your Heart Broken: 4

You are most compatible with people born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, and 29th of the month.

I woke up feeling so draggy today. I thought it was because I didn't get to bed until after 1 a.m. and as soon as I was dozing off the baby woke up and stayed up for at least an hour. I slept late -- as did three of the kids -- so I was running late this morning and I labored around here trying to get everyone ready.

Then I noticed that I was sore... ut oh, it dawned on me, I ran out of one of my meds a day or so ago so the exhaustion, lethargy and pain are because of that. Yes, I know, I should have paid closer attention this time. Well, at least I didn't go as long as last time.

I called in my prescription and will go pick it up in about an hour or so. For now, I'll finish the course of my day, which has been to scuff around barely getting anything done. Hey, on a positive note, I'm catching up on DVR watching! Not very productive, but I'm sure restorative!

I hope you're enjoying your day!
