Lovin' Miami

I just wanted to give you a quick update on my trip to Miami!! First of all, it's beautiful. Secondly, I didn't bring a camera and even if I did there probably wouldn't be anything interesting to take a picture of. I decided not to do the tourist thing and I've spent all morning laying in bed!

Yup! That's what I said. I know you're jealous! LOL. Can you believe no one has called me mommy. I didn't have to get up to change diapers, give bottles, make breakfast, break up a fight... you know the deal. Now, don't be jealous.

When I finally did get up I walked on a treadmill. Uninterrupted - for 20 minutes. ... I don't know. I think I'm getting spoiled with the solitude and quiet. :)

An-t-way, I'm about to go get a bite to eat. Without having to feed anyone... okay, okay. I'm sure I've worn that one out already!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Would you like a coupon?

As a BzzAgent I often get the opportunity to learn about and try new products for free. The latest products I'm bzzing about are Stonyfield Farm YoBaby Organic Yogurt and YoMommy Organic Yogurt. You've probably heard of YoBaby, which is recommended by pediatricians for proper nutrition, has an exclusive blend of six live active cultures promoting digestive health and it's organic.

YoMommy, which is brand new for pregnant and nusing mothers was made available in January, is available in four-packs (like YoBaby) and comes in Strawberry and Blueberry and Raspberry and Peach. YoMommy has real fruit on the botton and it's a good source of folic acid, calcium, DHA and Vitamin D.

My three youngest kids love YoBaby (I even took a little taste when I was giving the baby some -- it's really good!) and I thought yours might too. I have one coupon to try the multipack or drinkable YoBaby Organic Yogurt for free and I have eight coupons to get $1.00 off of the same thing. I also have two coupons to try the multipack YoMommy yogurt for free and four to get $1.00 off. If you send an email to with your name and address I will send you a coupon. (Sorry, this is for US residents only.) Rest assured: Your address will only be used for the purposes of sending you a coupon. It will not be sold or used in any other way.

Specify whether you want YoBaby or YoMommy. The first to respond will receive the free coupons and all others will receive the $1.00 off coupons. I'll post when the coupons are all gone!

YoBaby is about $3.99 and is available at most grocery stores, Whole Foods, natural and specialty stores, Target and Wal-Mart. YoMommy is about $2.99 and you can get it at select grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Whole Foods and natural and specialty stores. Also check for a store locator.

You can go to to get nutrition facts about YoBaby and YoMommy, sign up for a "Moosletter," and get e-coupons.

One of those days...

My day started at around 1 a.m. or so this morning. Well, maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but that's when the baby woke up and I put her in my bed. She is getting a little head cold so she's congested and you know how a baby who sucks their fingers can be when their nose is stuffy.

So, she's trying to suck her thumb and breath at the same time. She tosses and turns. Kicks. Sits up. Whimpers. Crawls half way down the bed. All the while keeping me awake.

I re-position her, pat her, roll her over, wipe her nose, hold her leg so she won't crawl away if I doze off. I cover her, re-cover her, wipe her nose again. Get the aspirator thingy to get the snot out. Doesn't help... and the entire processes starts all over again.

I think I may have gotten one hour of straight sleep and a million small dozes in. So we're running late this morning. The baby screams while I get everyone ready. And I'm trying to figure out how to get everything done in anticipation of my trip to Miami on Friday.

My eyes are burning from lack of sleep. My stomach hurts and I have that sleepy laziness that takes over when it's cloudy and cold outside. But I also have a mound of laundry to put away. A form to fill out that needs to be turned in tomorrow. Clothes to pack (for me and the children). Errands to run and all the other daily things along with the getting-prepared-for-traveling things.

So, if you don't hear from me much today then you know what I'm doing. I'm either goofing off and trying to muster the energy to get everything done. Or I'm working my butt off to get everything done! LOL!

Happy hump day!

Seven Random/Weird Facts About Me

I was tagged to do this meme by my friend over at Live, Laugh, Blog. After I started doing it I realized I think I did it already so here is the original post. And here are my new seven random or weird facts:

1. I hate doing laundry. In any given week I may do up to 15 loads of laundry. I'm convinced that people sneak into my house and add laundry to the dirty clothes basket.
2. I'm thinking about getting my master's degree in creative writing. The ultimate goal would be to teach on a college level and, of course, I want to hone my skills and finish my novels.
3. Most of my closest real-life friends are men, but my closest blogging friends are women. Hmmm? I wonder what that's about.
4. I was 156 pounds when I was about eight months pregnant with my first child. Can you say: Hot Mama!!
5. This year I'd like to recapture the zest for life and the future that I had when I was younger.
6. Red is MY color this year. I've got a pair of hot red shoes and a very snazzy red bag.
7. I used to only wear black up until about six years ago when I met my husband.

If you want to post your seven random or weird things then consider yourself tagged!

Have a great evening!

Beautiful Art Award

This beautiful award was given to me by Tammy and I am so honored to be able to post it. Tammy is so very thoughtful and encouraging... thank you Tammy for thinking of me.

Art Prize and Award
"This prize has arisen from the daily visits that I dedicate to many blogs which nourish me and enrich me with creativity. In them I see dedication, creativity, care, comradeship, but mainly, ART, much art. I want to share this prize with all those bloggers that entertain me day to day and to share this prize with those who enrich me every day. Doubtlessly, there are many and it will be hard to pick just a few, the people I will name today deserve this prize, as do the very long serious list of bloggers I also enjoy to read, but I will name the first 10 and will leave the rest of the work to all the bloggers that visit other's blogs and are nourished by them."
The rules of passing on this award are as follows:

1. post award in your own blog
2. indicate its origin and a link to the site: Arte Y Pico from Uruguay.
3. give it to 5 blogs that you enjoy.

I am proudly passing this award onto (in no particular order):

1. I'm going to give it back to Tammy who is one of the sweetest people I know. She is very encouraging and loyal -- a true friend.
2. My new friend Nilz who posts about the coolest products ever.
3. Syari: She's beautiful and sweet! And her blog is a joy to read.
4. Then there's Farah who has become one of my best blogging buddies. I love to read about her sweet little babies.
5. I think Carrie already received this award, but I have to pass it on to her too. She's thoughtful, a great mom, hard working and a very good friend.

Blog of the Month Award

Thanks to Carrie for this cute Blog of the Month Award. I'm going to pass it on to everyone who reads my blog today! Post with pride...

Samples, samples everywhere!!

I love getting stuff in the mail. So much so that I'm always filling out forms to get free samples. Today was a good mail day because I didn't get any bills and I received two samples: One of Huggies diapers from Sam's Club and another of Emergen-C. You can get a free sample of this wellness product by going to their website. I actually received three packets of the 1,000 mg vitamin C in three different flavors: cranberry, tangerine and raspberry.

What'd you get in the mail today?

I remember when...

I was 10 years old when I began keeping a journal. It was a locked diary that I received from my brother, who is nine years older than me, for my birthday. That diary was probably the beginning of my love for writing, but it was also the beginning of my love to record events and everyday occurrences in my life.

Recently I was talking to an old friend who said they remember something I had told them years ago and I didn't remember it. I don't even believe it's true so I committed to reading my old journals to find out. I didn't start from 1979, but I did start in 1988. That's years before the alleged event, but I couldn't resist.

I'm amazed at how many things are in these journals that I don't remember and how many things that I do, but not in that great of detail. My memory tells me that there's a certain man that I didn't really like that much, but when I read my journal I learn that I fell in love with him almost immediately. That was probably one of the most surprising things.

There are also the souvenirs that I've forgotten. I've kept everything from a fake I.D. I got when I was 18 or 19 (so I could gamble at the casinos in Atlantic City -- I even forgot I had gone) to several cards, a ring! and dried flowers from a guy I dated when I was in the Air Force.

One of the sweetest memories that I'll never forget, but that rushed back in full detail was the moment I found out I was pregnant with my first child. It was November 5, 1990, and although the circumstances weren't the best -- it was one of the happiest moments in my life.

There are other memories: lists of gifts I received, class I took, friends I met, men I dated, women who married and had babies, parties I went to, clubs I partied at and how I spent my holidays. Some things bring broad smiles to my face, some things cause me to laugh out loud or chuckle with glee and then there are the things that make me a little pensive, a little sad... but I guess the best thing is looking back in the time capsule and finding out who I used to be, what I liked to do and how I viewed the world.

I’m hoping to find this event my friend told me about, but in the meantime I’m enjoying the fun ride that’s filled with memories, surprises and amazement. It's great to know that as my memory fades I can look back in my journals and think "I remember when..."
