What about my boobies?

I am excited to present my first installment of Friday's column: In This Woman's World. As you'll notice, the text is pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Sometimes I hold them up and look at them in the mirror; trying to imagine where they used to be. Other times I think where they should be. Then there are times I just gaze at them. Contemplating them.

People say they're nice. (No, you don't need to know what people.)

They've nurtured life, provided pleasure and been the source of discomfort. But how do I feel about them?

I, like every woman, have my thoughts about them. Sometimes negative, sometimes accepting and other times proudly with the help of a push-up bra.

Now that I have reached the age when it's time to get mammograms, I think of them practically and thankfully. Practical because I have to maintain their health and thankful that I - like so many of my sisters - am not fighting to keep them.

  1. Great post. I always think the same way, I wanna get them 'redone' so they're better than before the kids came along, but you make a good point, I should be grateful and thankful that they're healthy.

  2. We are all glad and thankful that you maintained in good health. And pray for all thouse fighting to reagin health. Continue to think of them practically and thankfully!

  3. Perfect post for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

  4. I am happy with what I have. I don't think I would consider 'new' ones at any point at all.

  5. they have nurtured life and thats all that counts

  6. i dont think anyone ever truly likes their boobs do they. i guess having babies dont help!

What's up men & women of my world! I am all a-giggle that you decided to comment. You're what make this world go 'round... ya know? This "world." I love you! Smooches. :-)
