Typing at 150 wpm

As a writer I have aspirations of one day finishing a novel (I've started about three) so I am thinking about participating in NaNoWrimo, which is National Novel Writing Month. I joined one year, but I didn't get very far because it was hard for me to keep up with the daily word count. Since I am generally not a quitter I thought I would give it a try again this year.

Writing a novel in one month seems like a daunting task, but it can be done. I've discovered that I can be even more successful if I'm able to put down 150 word per minute. That would guarantee the completion of a novel in a month, wouldn't it? Do you think you could write a novel in one month at 150 wpm?

It just might be possible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I took Dragon’s typing speed test! because I type fairly quickly and I thought for sure I could keep up. Well, I was wrong. The guy speaking/reading the text finished a good six words ahead of me.

Here are my results:

Although I type 77 words per minute (with 87 percent accuracy) it still does not touch the 150 wpm that you would be able to speak. Can you imagine getting all of your typing completed so quickly? What would you do with the extra time? I, for one, would get so much more writing done that I think I would be like SuperMomTheWriter (yes, you have to read that all together like a superhero name!) and finish novels in a single month, leap... I mean, type articles in a single minute... you get my point. I think I may just get my novel complete by using Dragon NaturallySpeaking for NaNoWrimo and I would use the PC version to get it done.

Now that I've taken the typing test and seen what this program can do for my daily typing life it only gets good Dragon Reviews from me.

You type 77wpm? Impressive, I can't get past 60. LOL. I have a Mavis Beacon program on home home PC which I never use.

If you want to increase your typing efficiency try Integrated Keyboarding at:
www.inkeyboard.com
which allows you to move the cursor around the page without moving your hands away from the home key position.
Good luck with your book
