What does that say?!

My health and weight loss journal

Normally when I weigh myself I do it once a week and in the morning. I'm not always fully awake and I often shuffle into the laundry, where the scale is located, with my eyes half shut. Eventually I turn on the light and step on the scale.

I did this little routine some time last week. I don't always look down right away because I figure I need to brace myself for whatever it's going to say. I took a deep breath and looked down.

I blinked my eyes and did a mental shake of the head. That can't be right, I thought. In my morning fog, I stepped off the scale and stepped back on and sure enough it said the same thing: 240 pounds!

When I stepped off again I noticed that instead of being set on zero it was set on 60. One of my darling children had changed the dial. Luckily I was able to clear the sleep cobwebs from my brain before I ran hysterically through the house screaming, crying and waking up everyone.

Have you had any surprises this week... real or otherwise?

Oh, and in case you're wondering, my weight loss ticker at the top is correct. I'm 170 pounds and I've lost 29 pounds since January.
