I read a powerful post at MimiWrites, and I must admit I have ignored her badge that I've seen posted on others' blogs. I thought it was something superficial and I didn't want to pay attention. Quite frankly, blogging and keeping up can be really overwhelming and time consuming. But, today, a blogging buddy that I respect very much (yes, it's you Tammy) posted her Blog for Peace.
That prompted me to click through to Mimi's post. I was touched. I was moved. I was ashamed. There are no words for me to explain the "revolution" that Mimi took on so you must go there yourself and read her post.
Sadly, I am a little out of touch with what is going on in the world. Even though, and this may surprise some of you, I am prior service. Yup. I'm a veteran. Honorably discharged in 1992.
So, I have a new mission. To learn more about the wars, the devastation, the loss, the unrest... all in the name of rights, justice... whatever the fight is for. I'll begin the learning by reading Mimi's posts -- she's done a lot of research and a lot of writing to educate us and I'm going to do my best to learn.
But today, I blog for peace. I pray for the lost, I pray for our soldiers and for the people they sacrifice for. ... And, as I blog, I pray for peace.
